Im thinking about buying a 2009 tc soon. l want it to be more powerful than my honda accord that l am used to and that has about 272 hp. Looking over theon this l noticed that a good suggestion would be to build on the stock engine because it could handle 350 , and with serious modification over 500hp. If l brought it somewhere over here in Massachusetts to have the work done what might a ball park figure be? Im looking to keep the engine and my vehicle for at least 5 years, so l do not want parts that are going to put extra wear and tear on my engine.

Well l am pretty sure you wo not be able to get that much out of that engine with just basic bolt on mods, so you're going to have to look at a better crankshaft, possibly some forged internals, etc. l will guess around 3-4 grand?

You want your car to gain 150+ hp and you dont want any parts that are going to put extra wear on your engine? Good luck with that.

basically, the only way u can get that amount of hp is by getting a turbo kit. turbotoyota is turbo kit, at 8 psi gets close to 300 hp & at 10 psi with a professional tune u will be at around 320 hp.

the turbotoyotas kit is meant to work with mostly stock parts on the tc, the only thing u would need to upgrade is the clutch. it is also a good idea to install an LSD because with that much hp, u will get a lot of wheelspin if u floor it when trying to race. u do NOT need to modify the internals of the engine whatsoever, the pistons r already sleeved.

the turbo kit + gauges + clutch upgrade + exhaust (only need an axleback, turbo kit comes with a downpipe & a midpipe) = $5k. install should take about 4-8 hours if ur getting it done at a shop, so u figure the whole install will cost around $6k - 6.5k

You want to take a stock 4 banger make 350 hp and still be a reliable daily driver. LOL

Dude l spent over $10 G is to get just over 300 hp in my 96 tC.
There aint noting stock about the motor, trans, suspension & brakes + turbo.
If your stock motor is in good shape you could sell it for so $$$ but the only way to get that kind of HP and still have a semi-reliable car is to start from scratch.
And you cant skimp on the brakes and suspension when your pushing that kind of HP.
