scion which is owned by toyota (so basically scion uses all toyota parts) and toyota is well known as a very reliable brand. not only that, but all scion tcs are made in japan, and the build quality is one of the best in the world.

to give you an idea of how durable and reliable the parts are, the stock spark plugs that the tc comes with do not need to be changed until about 80,000 miles (well.they say 100,000 but its a better idea to change it sooner.)

hi, l owned the tc for just a little bit more than 2 years and no problems with the car what so ever. of course, l did buy it brand new, currently toyota makes all scions so they are really durable and reliable.

Got a 2007 tc, brand new. Sweet car. My only gripe for the car is its OEM Yokohama R32a tires. They are POS. They are loud, and have terrible traction in wet weather. So if you are going to buy a used tC, l will recommend that you replace the tires to either BF Goodridge or may be General Alltimax. But as for the car, dont think twice, buy it and enjoy the ride. Its a Toyota with Camry powertrain, so you know you are buying a reliable, long lasting car.

l had an 05 tC SC. It had 1 engine problem after another. Cracked 2 radiators, broke 2 superchargers (the 2nd one the bearings seized and got metal in the engine). After they refused to clean out the engine l sold the car as soon as it ran again.

Chris - You know pretty much every car has those right? Its more about the spark plug quality improving than the car.
