Alright, here is the deal. I am 16. l really want a scion tC. Now, l do not have the money to buy one right now. But, at my current income, if l save up for a year, l could buy one. The plan is to take my dads car when l actually get my license(currently have a permit). So l see no need to go out and spend a few grand right now to buy a car when l could just take my dads for free in a few months. So my plan is to save up for a year, then buy a tC. Now, do you guys think that the car is worth it? l know it is made by Toyota, so the quality is def. good, it is gotta be reliable. And l heard it is pretty peppy sporting a 160 hp and 160 lbs ft trq. So like l said, does this sound like a good idea? Thanks to all who answer. Also, post your opinion on the tC. If you really like the car go for it you will have something to drive in the meantime.

Use ur dads car for as long as u can before it breaks down, thus saving u money for the monthly, as for the the TC l checked it out before l bought an eclipse, l also checked out civic, g5, & lancer. if u got no money lease a lancer, or lease the tc, after the lease then u buy it. It may eventually cost a little bit more, but u r lowering the DP & the monthly, therefore u can have ur car earlier.

regarding the car itself, l like eclipse better than TC, since l wouldnt be upgrading anything in the car, but if u r a ricer, get a civic or a tc base, then mod it, they got a lot of aftermarket products unlike the clipse.

scion tc is a really nice car. l wouldnt use it for racing lol if that wat u want it for cuz it sux in that category BUT ya its a toyota and is realiable and all that good stuff, gets good gas mileage and the sunroof on them mofo is are really nice. l have a couple buddies who own some and they are nice looking cars.

Use your dads car as long as you can cause he pays the maintnace and all that. But a scion is a pretty reliable car but they are cheaper cars so the reliability isnt as good as a toyota corrola or honda civic. You can buy a '03 Honda Civic Si for about the same price and l can tell you now you will like it alot more (200hp, 8000 rpm redline, great handleing, very reliable and cheap parts)

l have an 08 tC right now and l really like the way it runs. although it is not the strongest car, it is definitely reliable. there are a lot of things that you can do it to make it your own :] l think you'd be really pleased with it when you eventually get one! good luck!

keep ur dad is car until u have saved up enough to make a down payment & cover at least 2-3 months worth of payment for the car. l suggest that u do not buy a new car, but get a used one. the used ones r just as good as the new ones but much cheaper.

with the extra money that u saved from buying the car used (depending on the year u could save upwards of $3000 overall) u can put that money towards car parts or whatnot. there r tons of parts out there for the tc, & when modded that thing is a beast. the engine handles 350 hp with stock internals so u can put on a turbo kit & be running at 300 hp with no problems whatsoever. that hp range also lets u run with sti is & evo's.

also, if u buy this car & mod it, overall it will be much cheaper than the cars that it can keep up with/beat (including cars like civic si, evos, se-r spec v's, etc)

save ur money 4 nw, then buy tc. l have 08 tc luv it. really reliable, l should knw l mess up every car l have lol.wow this car is the one who has lasted me dis long.tc has so many aftermarket parts im droolin, l just got 33 sponsors for my tc, hehehe. i've also driven 13hrs straight (except for gas stops only had to fill my tank 2.5xs for 1,000mile drive) its so comfortable. mine has standard subwooffer. really quick when u slam on the gas as soon as the light turns green :D loud for being stock(music wise), has like 5 star safety rating. if u get a new tc it has 2 free oil changes with tire rotation. i'm gonna put turbo in mine maybe a turbocharger also.
