hi i'm getting a scion tC and l was wondering what l need to install in order for it to sound good/loud. l do not want it to sound like some cheap lawnmower engine. I am guessing new exhaust/muffler? any suggestions on brands?

magna flow. make sure you get stainless. the ones that sound cheap are the aluminum ones and the really loud ones. a medium to low noise will have a nice rumble to it without sounding like someone used a coke can for your muffler.

do not install it unless you have a manuel tran

IMHO the TRD exhaust still sounds the best with a K&N typhoon intake

nothing will make it sound good, it has a toyota camry engine in it, and you cannot make it louder or faster so give up you ricer

Yah definitly a TRD exhaust/muffler or a if u make bank lol u can add a TRD supercharger

to get it to sound good/loud, most people just buy an axleback exhaust & slap it on their tc. axlebacks r good because they r easy to install & do not cause ur emissions to go up & still retain ur 2nd catalytic converter. however, axlebacks do not give u that much power (maybe 3 hp at the most). catbacks make the most power & u can make it sound pretty loud with that.

for the most part though, axlebacks r quieter than cat-backs unless u add different after market parts in the engine bay (mainly a header/intake). so depending on the route u take, it may just be a new exhaust system or an exhaust + header + intake. all in all, the price will be about the same, but u will get more power out of the cat-back.
