They are like any other front wheel drive cars. l had the standard 17 inch wheels with Potenza tires and they were fine in rain. Not so much in snow mainly because the tires are wider than a conventional front wheel drive car. The tC does lack traction control and stability control which would help in slick conditions though.

my best friend and l were driving up a hill in the snow in her 2007 tC. It handled very well. There were a lot of cars getting stuck since its a pretty steep hill.

l feel very confident in my tC when weather conditions are not the best. Obviously, l am not going to take it out when there is 6 inches of snow on the ground and a nice sheet of ice underneath it all. It has it is limits, but do not let the FWD fool you. When weather conditions are poor, just remember to slow down. Stability and Traction Control would be a nice extra on any FWD vehicle, but in most cases, l do not find it neccesary. Do not underestimate a 2900lb FWD coupe.

l think that the car handles great in the weather. l live in Erie PA. We get alot of snow up here & l have driven though over 7'' of snow on the roads.

l am not saying that its better then a AWD or 4X4 because l know its not. l am just saying that for a smaller car it does better then l thought it would do.

l have also read from owners saying that the car is horrible in the snow but l think it has to with a persons driving ability to drive in the winter weather.

David M. got it spot on. The car is fine in adverse weather. the tires handle the rain well, although dealership tires r usually of lower quality than the ones that they will be replaced with later on down the line.
As for snow, it mostly depends on the driver. Once u know the abilities of ur car, u should be able to drive it through just about any weather condition. Since the car does have those 17'' rims, it does have a slightly higher than average ground clearance (at least compared to my old '96 Mazda Protege).
So problems with the car r mainly due to driver error.

tires make all the difference.. change tires on any car and it change teh wet weather handlign-- been happy with mine though no set of tires lasted more than 25000 miles - it is afactor of the tire size and the ''stickiness' of sport tires means they wear out faster.. but l liked my yokohama is best..
