l think it was a great car.

It did not have much power, but it was a super good value and that back seat had a ton of room.

l dont really like it

Very practical, but it is one of the ugliest I've seen in years. Uglier than the Aztek, imo.

its by far better than the second generation.

Most l know love it -- inexpensive, reliable transportation with a geeky cool factor. First generation is a little less powerful, little smaller, little more distinctive style for a lower price than second generation.

It is a love it or hate it design.

Their commercials are all about love it or hate it.

Although it has a lot going for it, it never did much for me. Underpowered, & l just could not get past the ''bubba lip'' front bumper. There r a lot of them on the road, some with really cool looking mods.

The second generation design is a different story. It offends some Gen 1 owners, but it has the Camry four cylinder engine, a much sleeker look & a ton of standard features, but is still unique, big on the inside & small on the outside.

That is pretty much the way with the entire Scion lineup, u either love the cars or hate them. l do not like the XB, & l really can not imagine driving it on a windy day.it is hard to believe that Honda also copied it for the seemingly more popular.Rollerskate(?)2. The Scion dealers tried to sell me the XD, but l was looking for something a little different from the car yearning to be an I-Pod accessory, so l told them that l wanted a ''CAR'' & l got the TC which l liked so much at the Detroit Auto Show.
While l was waiting in the Toyota dealership, l sat in an XB, & l was less than impressed, although it is nice to see that u can get a stick shift in it, l just did not feel secure, & l disliked the set up for the dash board & dials.

l have an 06 and it maybe be a little under powered but hey its not a drag car. also it is way better in storms than you have given it credit. l love mine and l dont care much for the 2nd gen also the engine in the new xb ix not the camry engine! its similar but not the same. the new ones have also had a bad run with main bearings going out which calls for a new engine under warannty.
