l bought my '06tc used and dont have a manual. l wanna know how l can reset the service engine light, l know its supposed to come on every 5,000 miles. a copmlete tune up has already been done...ive tried unplugging batterie and computer but nothing

iT COULD HAVE BEEN CAUSED BY ''TOPPING OFF'' THE GAS TANK. tHE EXTRA FUEL SPILLS OVER IN TO THE CHARCOAL CANISTER WHICH IS A PART OF THE EMMISIONS SYSTEM AND TRIPS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TO COME ON.

Turn the key to ON position & make sure the odometer is showing, not TRIP A or TRIP B. Turn the key to the OFF position. With ur left hand, hold the trip reset button on the odometer. While holding it down, turn the key with u right hand to the the ON position. Keep holding the button for a couple seconds & the odometer will read 000000. That will mean it has been reset. The dealer or service department must reset it each time they service the car. It is not automatic.
