Hello Scion tc owners. My daughter has (bought new) an '07 tc with the 2.4 4 cyl. engine and 5 speed standard transmission. It tachs right around 3000 r.p.m.65 m.p.h. . l thought this seemed a little high and was wondering what some of your Scion tc is tach at this speed. Thanks!

l have a 08 scion xb--w/ same engine that is in your vehicle. And on highway----- with speeds of 65-70 mph my tach is around 2500 to 3000 so that seem to be right on

That is completely normal.

To be fuel efficient, you should shift around 3000rpm.

And your daughter should not be driving any faster than that so everything is normal.

If you want the rpm to be lower at 65mph, then shift at 4000rpms. That makes it accelerate faster, but that also uses more gas.

That is completely normal that at 65 my Tc is about the same.
