They r basically a Toyota. What do u expect???? l read somewhere that Tom Hanks bought a Scion & spent $85,000 to convert it to battery power. For the money, though, l personally would buy a good used Audi, like an Allroad or an A6 with the 2.7t engine. They have oodles of power & can be transformed into gas savers with a chip installed in their operating computers. Ironically, doing so increases the power output, as well. They r sturdier & safer than what u r looking at, & universally come with two-tone heated leather all around & BOSE stereo. They can be had through cars.com for around 8-11,000. l consider this a GREAT deal. They r a real autobahn stormer!!!! THe Scion line-up is very impressive, but l personally do not care for their suspensions or their stereo systems. A nicely tuned Audi can get around 30 MPG, if u know what you're doing!

It depends on if u r talking about a 1st generation (2003-2007) or a second generation (2008).

l have a 2005 & absolutely love it.
They r not a quick car if that is what u r looking for, they can become quick with some modifications.

l installed many options such as a short ram intake, monroe shocks, strut brace bar, & a custome exhaust.
They r very cusomizable for cheap.

l get anywhere from 30-45 depending on how hard l drive it.
The seats r great, but l recommend doing some suspension upgrades. The stock is not very good.

Overall it is a great car for the money.

Get one!

Decent MPG, moderately comfortable although not a good highway cruiser, excellent value for money.

a scion xb would be fine.
