I am not too pleased with how it looks but it is a big gas saver from what i've researched so far....right now l have a GMC Envoy and although l love my suv....with gas prices skyrocketing on into the summer...i'm seriously considering getting one...any xB owners out there wanna fill me in on this car? Thanks a bunch!

the all-new 2008 xB is bigger.
The wheelbase has increased by four inches, the overall length is a foot longer. too bad the base price went up also.

new is a huge power upgrade a 158-horsepower 2.4-liter dual overhead cam four-cylinder engine with Variable Valve Timing—the same engine found in the tC coupe. The engine delivers 162 lb-ft of torque at 4000 rpm & it can be mated to a five-speed manual transmission or a four-speed automatic with sequential shifting. Another upgrade over the previous generation, the xB now rides on 16-inch steel wheels with larger brakes for more stopping power. The interior offers a number of storage units, a driver’s right armrest has been added & the audio system has been upgraded to include standard rear head unit outputs to allow external amps to boost power to the front & rear speakers & subwoofers.Safety gets a big upgrade with the addition of side-mounted airbags for front-seat passengers & curtain airbags for front & rear seats for the first time.

The xB costs $15,650 with a manual transmission & $16,600 with an automatic. It has a good amount of standard equipment, which includes air conditioning, cruise control, tilt wheel with audio controls & power windows, mirrors & door locks with remote keyless entry.
(consumer reports)

Cons:
standard steel wheels, plastic feel of steering wheel, large c pillar, steering wheel column only tilt adjustment. digital clock & temperature cannot be viewed at the same time, small gas tank.

Wish the Auto transmission had 5 gears & not 4.

l also wish that it had a sunroof option & different seat trims available (they r comfortable though). The only other nit picky thing l have to say is the armrest, it is soft & l already have an elbow dip in the middle of it.

l have a series one xB and it is big inside, gets 32-34 mpg. That said it is narrow and a little loud, l would still buy another one.
