l was thinking about getting one. It is a used 2005 with 57K miles. They were wanting $10,000......Is it worth it?

NO!!!!!xa is a death trap, no abs brakes no side air bags and woefully under powered , this is not worth it , go buy an older model corolla with abs and airbags you will be safer

My father owned an xA for about two years, and he let me drive it a few times. Its a very smooth ride, and l thought it was pretty cool looking for compact car, outside and in. The downside is, it is very underpowered..meaing it is very slow. But it gets great gas mileage, and its a Toyota! (Scion is owned by Toyota) So it will last practically forever.

You can probably get 1 for a bit less & l personally prefer the 1st generation Xb but yes!, It is a great car to have! As for some of the other , the Xa does actually have abs & l think a very safe car. Very good crash ratings & stats. It is also plenty peppy & powerful, unless you're in dire need of a race car or attempting to make up for other personal inadequacies. It is rated a pretty good 38 mpg but usually gets closer to 35 or 34 so enjoy passing the ''more powerful'' cars at the pumps!
