I've been looking around different dealers and the sales people automatically send me for the new one but the used ones are priced lower.

maybe you can look into a certified used one. it comes with a long warantee and cheaper then new.

Buy new because the price will be about the same. They have very good resale because of the limited new supply (not uncommon to wait months for the color you want). With the no haggle pricing dealers do not make much money on new ones and cant charge nearly as much as they would normally.

Go for a new one, because you can build the car the way you want and get the accessories you want. The cool thing about Scions is all the accessories are added to the price of the car, like alloy wheels for example and are not separate price. So you can finance the car and the accessories at the same time.

I'd get a new one. not only are you getting it new but you know that nothing has been done with that car. Also the Tc has a very high resale valve so even if you get a use Tc you still are going to be paying almost what it would cost to get a new one.

It all depends on what you're trying to accomplish.
A new one will be a clean canvas for u to create the exact vehicle u want. If you're a recent college graduate Scion also will give u a $400 rebate (assuming u have all the qualifications for the program. Check the link below) plus one of the lowest interest rates offered by Toyota Financial Services.
A Certified used one ( l would stay away from any other type used unless u or someone u know is very car savvy) gives u the benefit of a longer warranty than a new car (see second link). As others have stated, the costs on used ones r not much different, but every $1000 count.right? You can expect to pay about $1000-$1200 less for each year that the car is old. A 2006 may cost u $2000-$3000 depending on the condition & mileage. You may also pick up one that has a few added options without the added costs. Again unless u know a lot about cars l would stay away from ones with aftermarket engine, exhaust, or electrical work. It is no telling the quality of the installation & how it may affect the warranty.
Either way u will get a well made, dependable vehicle with a lot of style & good resale value.
Good Luck!

depends on your taste. you ha 2 options altezza style lights and projector headlights on the 08. or the standard headlight and red taillights. on the older ones. either way you might not get the color you want.

Again, it all depends on what u want. l bought new & figured spending the extra $1000 was worth having a car that has never been driven by anyone else. l have differnet standards of how to take care of my car then the next guy ( l am sure u can relate.) So if u do not mind having a car that someone may have taken care of or may not have (Not washing it, shifting out at 5900 etc etc..) go for a used. Certified pre-owned is a better way to go if ur going used. but in the long run ur best bet may be to spend the little extra & get a car that is all yours. That is the way l looked at it & l decided on an 08. Best of luck though!
