How does it handle? Is it a lively engine even in automatic? Does it have a triptonic or way to shift even as an automatic?
Does it do good on gas?

It is got Toyotas 2.4 4cyl. The stick will get it in every gear! Varitabe Valve Timing...gives it a bunch of performance and great fuel economy. Plus, Toyota has a lot of warrantied after market performance parts that wo not void your warranty...like a supercharger!

it is okay, but lacks on the pony power. With a few mods you can boos the performance some, but not much, they have a sleek look to them.

l have my doubts about all the Scion models but since they are Toyota descended, they may be worth the investigation. If they do not do good on gas, then what can possibly be the excuse. The van is strictly Postman Pat.

It is reliable. It has a Toyota Engine.
The Scion tC was Toyota is replacement for the Toyota Celica.
It could take a beating, but do not always rev high. Only Honda is can handle high revving.

Its alright. Its not very powerful but gearing makes up for some of that. However that gearing makes the gas mileage suck for 4 cylinder. Be prepared to get mid 20s city and high 20s highway. Its much slower with an auto compared to a manual.
