The only time l can get the sunroof to close is to push down my sunroof viser and then push the close button .. inorder for it to close... but that is very annoyoing to keep having to do that... does anyone have the same problem?

My Scion TC does not have that problem, but the lining or insulation ( l am not sure what it is) is falling out of the sunroof.

My best suggestion is to just bring it in. Hopefully you still have your warranty. l think they last 5 years?

l conduct vehicle reliability research at truedelta.com, & hear about this sort of problem on various cars from time to time. Most often, though, the problem with sunroofs is rattles.

In the case of this particular problem with the tC, all that is usually required is additional lube on the mechanism for the air guard, perhaps with a silicon-based grease. Before doing this, I'd make sure the track is clean & free from debris.

If the lube does not work, some people appear to have solved the problem but momentarily disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery. This might reset the module that manages the jam protection.

Forum thread discussing this problem & solution below.

Mine does this. You just need to open your door while the car is still running and push it down on the pop up shield, while the sunroof is going forwards.
