New by a mile especially engine which is Camry 4cylinder. Other is 1.5 Echo engine. 60 HP and 54 lb is of torque gain with better milage.

The 2008/2009 xB is feature a lot more/better safety features including side curtain airbags, ABS, Vehicle Stability Control, and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD).

It now features a 2.4L inline 4 motor with 158hp; that is also in the tC and 4cyl Camry.

It also has a lot more interior space than the previous version.

As far as features, safety, interior styling, performance, handling NEW ones are tons better. BUT they look like shit. So its all up to you buddie. the 07' ones are almost exactly the same besides the exterior so if you could find a nice one of those then thats what l would recommend.

i mainly dislike the new one because it is too expensive, less fuel efficient and goes against the reasons l bought the old one in the first place.new one is too americanized

The new one.by a mile & a half. It has a good balance of performance & economy, is highly rated, well equipped, roomy, comfortable, quiet, has airbags all around, traction control, stability control, ABS & much sleeker styling.

In spite of complaints from Gen1 owners, the new xB gets good gas mileage compared to other compact cars, & offers a lot of bang for the buck. The original design was not all that bad, & the tuners do some pretty amazing things with the basic Gen1 package. l could just never get over the protruding lip front bumper. It ruined the rest of the car for me.

l like the old one. the new one looks like most of the othe suv but the old one is in a class by itself.

l like the size, back, and side of the old one.
l like the front of the new one.
