supercharger or a turbo

l am assuming you're asking about the Scion tC TRD, because regular Scion tCs r neither supercharged or turbocharged.

Under the hood of a tC TRD sits a centrifugal supercharger developed by Toyota Racing Development (TRD). It is squeezing 7 pounds of boost into the stock 2.4-liter four-cylinder with the help of a revised air intake. Bigger fuel injectors & a remapped engine control unit (ECU) assure an adequate mix of fuel & spark while a TRD exhaust spits out the leftovers. Resulting in 200hp.

The reason why TRD did not go the turbo route is because the tC is close-coupled exhaust catalyst that makes a turbo difficult, if not impossible, to fit.

Niether of em' but their is an option for adding a supercharger for 3,200 dollars but their is no turbo offered by TRD. But their are turbo is avialable if u want to customize ur ride!!!

Dear Money-

The Tc is for all ontensive purposes an entry level sport coupe. l own a 2007 TRD with manoy other mods that l have made through aftermarket kits.

The nice thing is that Toyota will let u make the mods without voiding their warranty on the car.

Internal engine mods r of course discouraged, but how they fixed it is, that any mods that u make to the car r ur responsibility. But the car in general is taken car of through Toyota, especially if u use their optional equipment mods.

l have done exhaust, intake, suspension, & minor interior things like stereo & lighting that have enhanced the atmosphere of my personal ride. However, l also have an 06 Xb that is no longer what you'd expect either.

This IS an XBOX now that is totally cool. l changed the configuration of the rear seats to accomodate a 27 inch LCD Monitor & a complete PC based gaming system. Needless to say at the Scion shows, it gets attention. But its entertaining. Had some help from my cousin who used to work at EA for that little bit of fun.

But l digress.

There r turbo-charger kits for the Tc through Toyota is Contractor AEM Racing. l have Cold Air Intakes on my cars both from K&N. The Exhaust systems r both AEM Racing with high flow Cats so they smog.

The Xb exterior l left mostly stock, so when l drive it around town it does not attract unwanted attention. So if u saw it in traffic, u would just say, ''There goes another little box.'' And unless l am headed to the show, none of the gaming equipment is in it either.

But these cars r totally about ur expression of yourself.

Neither. You can decide to supercharge or turbo it if you would like though. The tC stands for touring coupe.

Although basically the same, it is a small supercharger that gets 65 HP and 40 lb is of torque. With air induction and catback exhaust for 4000 is not bad,
