Sometimes a maintenance light comes on because your gas cap is not on all the way. Try taking it all the way off and then putting it back on, making sure that you click it several times. It should go off in about a day.

Try disconnecting your battery. Leave it unhooked for a minute or so, then reconnect and start the car.

You need to get an oil change. Mine has been on for a month and l am a month overdue for an oil change! If it does not fix it it will need to be reset by a Scion dealer. : )

the 1st thing u should do is put the car in the On postion..not starting the car..make sure the odometer reading is on not the trip A or B..turn the car off..hold the reset button which should be located next to the odometer gauge..should say reset..hold the button down then put the car in the ON postion..hold it down until the lines on the odometer stop blanking..that should reset the maint light..but make u u get the oil change..most of the time the light comes on cause u want pass 5,000 miles on ur oil change

After you've driven ur Scion for a few thousand miles, u will see a ''maintenance required'' orange light flash for a few seconds in the center display console every time u start ur car. Do not be alarmed. this is just a reminder to have ur oil changed. If u change ur own oil, u can reset the light. here is how:
1. Turn on the ignition & make sure it is on ur odometer display, not the trip display.
2. Turn off ur ignition. Hold down the trip meter reset button & turn the ignition on. Keep the button pushed in.
3. The maintenance required light will flash for a few seconds. when it turns off, let go of the reset button.

The the display will change for 1 second & go back to the mileage. That is it.
