l dont think Texas has any emission laws. So l wouldnt worry too much about it being illegal or not. Worse that can happen is a cop tells you to take it off and pay a fix it ticket, and then you can just put it back on. :] Just get the intake, you wont need to have a smog check for years to come, and when you do just take the intake off and put the stock one on.
