In the bumper on the left? It is gotta be a reverse light, it is the only clear light on the rear.

If you look at the two taillights, they're both solid red. The clear one is the reverse light. It seems weird to have only one, but that is Scion for you.

This may be more dangerous than cool though.

It is the reverse light so the box that rocks can let all the dorky cars behind it know that it is backing up. :D

It is a reverse light, in Japan most cars are typically fitted with only one reverse light. This is more of a nod to the hip young JDM tuner crowd that has readily accepted Scion more as a cultural phenomenom that just a car company.
