Has anyone driven or owns the new 2008 Scion xB? How does it drive? How is the mileage??

l test drove the manual and automatic at the Omaha show in May, it drove nice both on interstate, and downtown. the mileage is not as good as the older model..now it is only 22/26, it is wider, longer, now has a bit of a blind spot, and has a bigger more powerful engine..good get up and go.
nice ride, good stero and sound.

Iown both an 05 Black CHerry Pearl xB & an 08 Super White xB. The improved performance is nice, as is the additional cargo space in the back. According to the little mpg meter in the combi meter in the last 1500 miles l have averaged 27.8mpg & thats both city & highway together, more city though.

The blind spot is not really an issue if ur mirrors r adjusted properly, even on the 05 xB if u try to look out the way back mirrors u can only see out of the passenger side one.

All in all l have uses for both of them, the improved performance & size aside l really like the look, & l am glad both of my xB is have a unique look, & the key thing with Scion is personalizing ur car so u dont look like everything else on the road.

The second generation of the boxy, funky xB is more highly styled & both two inches wider & a foot longer than the model it replaces. The sluggish 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine has been replaced by a 158-hp, 2.4-liter four-cylinder, with a choice of a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. The gauges r still centered on the dash, & an information center provides clock, temperature, & trip computer functions. Rear 60/40-split seats fold flat to aid cargo loading. Among the abundant storage nooks is a hidden bin under the rear seat. Curtain air bags, electronic stability control, & antilock brakes will all be standard.
