I am looking into buying a new car wtih the tC in mind, is it worth it? Can you tell me your experiences with it, good and bad.Since it is a newer car it is hard to find reviews about how it holds up. If you own one or know someone who did, please help me with my decision. If you say No to it, possibly suggest an alternative.

( l do not own one. sorry :( but ur question is lacking so hopefully this can help at least a little bit.)

I've answered this question at least a dozen times in the past. Here is what l have gathered. Some of it may apply to you, other parts may not but, it never hurts to have all the info right? Sorry it is so long.

I've done my research on it, & am planning on buy one in July. Consumer guide best buy!!! Has the sporty looks that people like, the features of a more expensive luxury car & the reliability of Toyota behind it is name. I've spent numerous hours looking into any flaws or tech. problems & really the major only concern I've heard was there is too little room in the rear & the plastic roof cover. Well it is a hatchback, so if people wanted more room, go get an SUV or something lol. But, overall, gas mileage 23/30 is good, 160 hp is all l really need & it has the great looks! l fell in love with this car & l drive an 05 civic ex & l find this to be much better then my little economy car. (Only bought that becuase l needed a quick car & it fit my price at the time.) On a scale of 1-10 l rank it about a 9.8 Do what u think is best for you, but overall the tC is an excellent choice!!! l have test driven the auto tranny, & my only concern was the suspension was a little stiff. Not too bad though. The handling was increadable with the Z rated tires on it, that drive made my week lol. l am getting the manual because l do not see an auto worth the extra $800 plus dollars. l do not see where u can go wrong! Good luck!

** Another guy who answered this same question wrote this:

The Scion tC is an awesome car & would make a great first car due to its high build quality & reliability. l have had to opportunity to extensively drive a Scion tC & they r very fun & comfortable, has a good sounding stereo, & several standard safety features that other car in its class do not have. And it is safe in a collision. My best friend & 2 of her friends were struck from behind at approx 60 mph while at a stop, & no one in the car was hurt. l was amazing considering the rear bumper was almost in the back seat.
Its a good looking car to with made aftermarket parts available to customize ur car. The standard moonroof is also a welcome feature to let the wind run through ur hair in all seasons. It has keyless entry, anti lock brakes. l can not think of any bad things to say about the car.
l will say compare the price of a new one to a used. It may be worth ur time.

Hope this helps u & hope to see u on scionlife.com soon!! Enjoy! Oh yea, do not forget to add the Ped. Spoiler to it!! Makes it look 100x better. :)

l love my tc. I've had it fora couple of weeks now. My requirement when looking was a 2 door, sporty car with a sunroof that was a stick shift.

Things l like about my tc:
-exterior design
- mp3 auxillary outlet
-roomier than my old 2000 cougar (the backseats recline)
-panaramic sunroof
-2dr hatchback (i just have not gotten into sedans)
-price
-toyota dependablility

Things l do not like:
-gas mileage ( l was used to getting 30+ mpg on my cougar)
-no rear wiper (essential for hatchbacks)
- l wish it sat lower, it would feel sportier

Other than that l love it, granted I've only had it two weeks, but its been great. Ca not really answer u from experience about the durability, but that fact it was a toyota product help convince me to buy it. I've never known anyone to have bad luck with a corolla/camry & my mom has a 1993 lexus that has over 250k on it.(the odometer stoped working).

l am starting to wonder if people research before they post new questions. Anyway, here r my thoughts on my 2007 Azure Pearl Scion tC (manual); l love the exterior styling of the car, & it seems to be mechanically sound since its a product of Toyota. HOWEVER, the build quality is definitely lacking. I've experienced annoying rattles, & my HVAC lights stopped working. The car feels like its falling apart!

Pros:
• exterior design & interior ergonomics
• rear seat leg room & reclining
• economical price
• gas efficiency
• customization
• Toyota dependability
• torquey little 2.4 power-plant
• panoramic roof
• MP3 capabilities

Cons:
• rear head room for passengers over 6'
• build quality (car is literally falling apart, rattles, etc)
• panoramic roof cover is CHEAP looking
• low profile tires = HARSH ride
• WEIGHT!!!

l love my scion tc, but after reading some of the other responses l do agree with some of the cons. it does rattle a bit, but l guess l didnt notice until l thought about it considering l had a peice of shit before my scion. but overall l love the look of the car, and its tottaly customizable if youre interested in that. the fact that its built by toyota made it a good buy for me.

LOVE IT!! wo not be disappointed.has plenty of room and l am the mom of a very active sports playing six year old. It has a lot of pick up for the size of the engine and looks GREAT. l get more compliments on my car.although l have lowered it and tinted out the tail lights and windows and put new rims on it.it is a fun car :)

for the price range & style, u cant go wrong. it really depends on ur lifestyle & conditions. if u generally have more than one other person in the car, l wouldnt recommend the tc or any coup for that matter. Now if ur younger looking for a car to drive around & have fun in, look no further. the tc is probably one of the easiest cars to modd, with hundereds of websites dedicated to providing u with quality aftermarket modifications. the 2.4L is not the most powerful, but u can always improve that with one of the many turbo packages u can get for the tc. Its very rare that u will see two modified tCs that dont look very similar (compared to civics, etc). l would recommend installing aftermarket springs, though, because the factory springs r very stiff, & maybe upgrade the audio (the stock system isnt the best). other than that, the tC is a great car!
