The people and managers at the dealership said that they arent allowed to negotiate on Scion is but they can negotiate on any Toyota on the lot..Is this true? Are they really like Saturn and arent allowed to negotiate prices?
Weekend..Not all scions are cheap..and if cheap was the reason for not negotiating then lots of toyotas (like the corolla and yaris and some hondas wouldnt be negotiable)
Thanks cowboy..will do...l was just so pissed...Only one dealer had the one in the color l want (white and manual) *sigh*

The thing is that Scions are so cheap they have no room to negotiate.

Bullcrap. Everything is negotiable. l negotiated at Saturn.
They get paid by commission. It comes down to a game of chiocken. If they think you want the car more than they're willing to drop the price, they will sit on the high price and wait for you to cave.
Go to another Scion dealer to get a price, then play the 2 dealers against each other. Tell them the other one gave you a better price.

Go back over the weekend, dealerships will try to make this deal work since it is end of the month and they need to get that commission. So maybe the would be willing to work on the price and fees.

In some rare cases this is true on very new vehicles or very popular models. Sometimes when vehicles r so popular they can even get away with charging more than MSRP.
Personally l will never buy a new car, & would not let anyone l know buy one if l could help it. If u buy a car that is just one year old u can save 20% or more. The average millionaire drives a 2 year old, bought with cash, American made car. That is my goal.
But l digress. If u r going to buy new, get a few different online price quotes to take with u to the dealer. And checking around with other dealers nearby would not hurt either. My guess is that this is just a selling trick they r using on you. Maybe they wo not budge on the price right now because they only have a couple of the 08' models. But they will negotiate eventully. Keep going back, but do not give in to them. Dealers look at every person that comes through the door as a sucker. Especially women.

That is true - scion does not negotiate. They are like saturn in they have a flat price and that is it - that is honestly what drew me to the cars at first because l do not like to haggle. The price is fair and the cars are great! I'v had mine for almost a year and LOVE IT!!

scions are non-negotiable.price is set in stone and if you do catch anyone, you can turn em in.anyways.i ordered my scion personalized, which is what scion seems to be based on, personalization.also cheap and reliable.good luck..

This is true, they are not lying. l just purchased a scion tc. They call it true pricing, the price is what it is. You may be able to negotiate your loan, accessories, or extended warranties, but you can not change the sticker price. This is actually great b/c scion could sell for much more than they do. Check out their website l think they explain it.

The couple above me r right. Scion has a ''pure or true'' pricing deal. The scion u buy in Maine will be the same price as in California. The only difference in price will be the taxes, title, license all that blah blah. Also the comment about a used scion. Do yourself a favor & go check something like autotrader.com or cars.com & see that a used scion has a HIGHER resale value then a new one. That is because they r such incredible cars. l personally do not care for the xa or xb but glad to hear u like Scion. If u want that car, place ur order, get all ur accessories & just go with what they give you. You may want to look at carsdirect.com, they have a list of all the prices that someone other then a dealer would sell the accessories for. But l guarantee that the price u see there will be the same price the dealer will give u as well. Good luck!!

It is true. And it is good. Go to scion.com and personalize your desired scion and it will be the same price as any dealer will sell it for.

Customize it on line at scion.com where you can see what it looks like. If you have broadband you can get the 360 deg. view on the x and y axis.

Have fun!
