l am 16 years old, and l just got my liscense. My parents said if l kept my camero in one piece until october they would get me a new scion tc. What do you guys think about the tc?

l think it is cute, affordable, classy, sporty, good on gas mileage, safe, and good cars.
l do know how to drive a stick, but l dont wanna have to drive one all the time. It gets annoying.

Good inexpensive choice for a girly car. Just try not to demolish the camaro during the summer :) The more you drive the higher your chances of an accident.

Get a 07 Civic better.

If you know how to drive stick get the Civic Si.

l think it is a great choice. Since it is a Toyota, it should run smoothly (with regular maintenance) at least until you graduate from college (and probably longer)!

l do not think children should drive, you shouldnt be able to get a permit until 17 and a LICENSE until your 18. There are many familys and innocent people on the roads. These irresponsible kids drive and crash and kill their selves as well as others! Much less a 16 yo with a sports car..*gosh* Besides you cant even spell the damn word lol :)

l was gonna get one when l got my permit, but my parents bought me a different Toyota. Personally, all Toyotas r junky on the inside.but keep on running. My Matrix is only 2 years old, & it is cost my parents so much to fix minor things in the interior. My handles keep on breaking, the seats r crap, & the buttons on the radio r falling apart. The Scion & Matrix r similar in height off the ground, & l can not tell ya how many times my car has bottomed out & had to replace or repaint the front bumper. Besides that, small Toyotas have awful crash test results & crumble like a tin can if they're in an accident over 40 mph. For that price, trust me, get a used BMW.way better & cute.

First off it is Camaro. Second The rattiest Camaro in the world is better than any scion any day.

With gas prices the way they are the scion is prolly going to be way cheaper to drive than a camero anyway. l know how that is l have a mustang that l am getting ready to sell , it is just a toy to me any way.

l have one. the BEST car out there! l loveeee it! its roomy in the back for passengers for road trips =P great mileage, affordable, and dependable. it is also veryyyy cute. l love my tC! i've has it since my junior year in high school, and i'm a sophomore in college now. it is definitely a great buy! you should definitely get it, if you do not mind paying a little extra for insurance (it is, after all, a 2-door). Have owned 2 tC is and 3 Camaro's. Will never buy another Camaro, would buy another tC. Many Scion owners are extremely happy with their vehicles. There are many websites for Scion owners, or soon to be's. It is a fun car with alot of 'bang for the buck'.

scion is toyota so it will last forever. far as a comment below left by another about her matrix of course it is cheap thats why toyota wasnt happy with it and wasnt up to par with toyota so they sold the idea to pontiac and created the pontiac vibe.

I've answered this question at least a dozen times in the past. Here is what l have gathered. Some of it may apply to you, other parts may not but, it never hurts to have all the info right? Sorry it is so long.

I've done my research on it, & am planning on buy one in July. Consumer guide best buy!!! Has the sporty looks that people like, the features of a more expensive luxury car & the reliability of Toyota behind it is name. I've spent numerous hours looking into any flaws or tech. problems & really the major only concern I've heard was there is too little room in the rear & the plastic roof cover. Well it is a hatchback, so if people wanted more room, go get an SUV or something lol. But, overall, gas mileage 23/30 is good, 160 hp is all l really need & it has the great looks! l fell in love with this car & l drive an 05 civic ex & l find this to be much better then my little economy car. (Only bought that becuase l needed a quick car & it fit my price at the time.) On a scale of 1-10 l rank it about a 9.8 Do what u think is best for you, but overall the tC is an excellent choice!!! l have test driven the auto tranny, & my only concern was the suspension was a little stiff. Not too bad though. The handling was increadable with the Z rated tires on it, that drive made my week lol. l am getting the manual because l do not see an auto worth the extra $800 plus dollars. l do not see where u can go wrong! The Scion tC is an awesome car & would make a great first car due to its high build quality & reliability. l have had to opportunity to extensively drive a Scion tC & they r very fun & comfortable, has a good sounding stereo, & several standard safety features that other car in its class do not have. And it is safe in a collision. My best friend & 2 of her friends were struck from behind at approx 60 mph while at a stop, & no one in the car was hurt. l was amazing considering the rear bumper was almost in the back seat.
Its a good looking car to with made aftermarket parts available to customize ur car. The standard moonroof is also a welcome feature to let the wind run through ur hair in all seasons. It has keyless entry, anti lock brakes. l can not think of any bad things to say about the car.
l will say compare the price of a new one to a used. It may be worth ur time.

(Do not listen to the other people who just dis the tC; it is only becuase they're scared of change & their American built cars r doing so well that their companies have laid off hundreds of thousands of workers becuase they can not compete with companies like scion..Then u have morons like half baked that think the civic is the best thing ever. Great way to blend into a crowd. Unique, like everyone else.)

l personally do not think the tC is a good first car. You need to get something big & sturdy so that IF u r involved in a car accident, u will be well protected. Once you're able to maneuver a big 'hoopty', the transition to something small & sporty will be a breeze, & u will be a MUCH better driver. l hate new teen drivers in 'sporty' compact cars terrorizing the roads. It should be mandatory that everyones first car is a hoopty. Big cars truly make a driver out of you!

Get something used and bigger. You are 16 and its going to get wrecked. Why would you want a Scion over a Camaro anyways? l own a tC and its nice. Id still rather have a v8 Camaro over the tC.

Your first car should be something that runs well, but will not be expensive to replace. My first car was a 10 year old Dodge.
