l am looking about getting a scion xb, l have about 5k to put down on a used one (trade in included in that) , most of which are selling around 13k used, l was wondering how you all like them.Is there a lot of room to stretch out (6'1 250 lbs)?How about the mileage, (most of which will be used for driving to and from college 35 mi round trip a day).Does it ride well, handle well.. etc..Thanks
If you are going with other, please use reasons why, compared to the scion, it must have good mpg and not cost much more than 13k remember l am going to be a college student.

l would say it is a good all around car for a student, but as you mention, may be a bit cramp for a 6 footer like you, but other than that it is a reliable car.

The xB is a very practical vehicle, & for what you're looking for, should be perfect. l am 6'3'' & had plenty of room while driving one, & even as a passenger in the back seat. Mileage is 34 highway, & mid to upper twenties in the city. Ride & handling r ok, a little on the stiff side.

If u want to save some money, some other options to consider r the Hyundai Accent & Chevrolet Aveo. Both start at a lower price than the xB, so u could buy a new one for under 13K & get a warranty, or buy a used one, & have some extra cash for school books.
