scion. xb.. square. bad..

l own a Scion tC, but l do not like the xB because l think it looks ridiculous (even modded). Also the engine is pathetic, and the interior layout and ergonomics make me want to vomit. You asked.

Soooo much better than the old xB. l am glad they also replaced the xA with the xD.

The overall exterior styling is still boxy however thats a good thing. Looks a lot like the t2B concept car. l wish they made rims standard. Also Toyota/Scion should have made the new xB available with the xD is 1.8 liter engine & have the 2.4 liter as an option. Would have made the car cheaper. The only part l do not like is the fact that there is only one rear back up light. It is too quirky for me. Otherwise nice car. l hope they make it available with a sunroof this time.

to be 100% honest l do not care for the styling of the 08 xB but l did not like the styling of the 2003-06 xB either BUT l also now own an 06 xB and l love the dang thing now but it took 3 years and a few rides in one(company has them) to hook me. we have one at the shop with 230,000 miles one it and it still runs well.

It is the box that something else came in.

the original xb was unique because of its right angles. personally l dont like the new one. l liked the whole box-thing. as for the xd, l really didnt see a difference between it and the xa, just a few minor details

Okay, the 2008 Scion xB.

l am personally upset about the redesign. The whole point of Scion was to set itself apart from the crowd, they did that with the xA & xB. The boxier bodies were the best part!

But now l am seeing a bit more of Toyota is expensive brand, Lexus, in the redesigned xB & the brand new xD, plus the use of very similar parts of other automakers.

The new xB is headlights look light a slimmer version of those of the Lexus IS300's. The taillights look almost the same as a US car, which l cannot remember at the moment.
The addition of an external antenna was a mistake, the intigration into the very rear left & right windows was one of the reasons l bought mine in 2006.
The subtraction of the very rear left & right windows was a MAJOR mistake, the first generation xB is have great all around visability, the subtraction of the windows was a bad move.
It looks as if they took the original xB, made it into an ice cube, & left it outside to melt in the sun a bit. Sloppy, & unimpressive, work in my opinion.
l say bring back Gen 1, or keep the boxy concept.

But l kinda understand the need for change, the first generation Scion xB sold like hot-cakes! In my family, l have a red one, my dad has a black one, my cousin has a purple one, my aunt has a white one, & my uncle has a blue one.

That is my opinion of the 2008 xB.

On another note, the xD looks like a rounded version of the Scion xA. Also, it looks like a 4-door version of the Toyota Yaris 2 door hatchback.

Oh, & thank goodness Scion has not started making sedans! Keep with the coupes & hatches, & they will keep making money
