I am thinking about purchasing the Scion tC. But before l do so, I'd like to get some feedback about it. So what do you think about the Scion tC and do you own one yourself?

Well l do not exactly know much about them but since l work at a Toyota and l drive a few of them a day..i think they feel good and they are nice cars especially the manual :) but according to one customer from today she said they are not very well built..but l like them.. :)

l owned a tC for about two years, selling it this fall.
It was a 2005 model & while it was a very nice, comfortable car, it had it is problems.
The interior exhibited rattles here & there that many trips to the dealership never resolved. Aside from that, the fuel economy was not as good as l would have liked.(partly due to my heavy foot)
All in all, l found it to be a great car in style, utility & reliability. The standard transmission version is much peppier than the automatic.
Some updates have been made for the 2007 model year that should make it even better.

As an owner l can say, after much previous research, l found it to be the best and most features-inclusive car for under $20,000 (tax and title included). Two things l would change:
1) the black interior (a dark gray would be nice) and l wish it had a rear-window wiper. Other than that, l am thrilled with it!

l would recommend it highly.

All the Best.

If u r considering on getting the tC, l say wait till next year is model. This year is model will be old news. They will be redesigning it to incorporate more of what the Fuse looks like. The xb is redesign was from the T2B, l do not know where they got the idea for the xd.but the tC will be getting styling cues & features from the Scion Fuse Concept. So l would wait till next year to see what the new model has to offer before u buy this year is model. Redesigns usually fix the flaws of the previous generation. Just what l would recommend..

l do not own one, but l just looked at it at the Scion website. l like it. l am a car nut, & l am from Canada where they r not available, but l would consider making the simple mods to meet the Canadian requirements. l liked the styling, options available (very funky), the colors, performance & safety. From a price point it looks reasonably priced, although with some of the options l would get myself aftermarket as they r a little pricey, but not out of line with other manufacturers. If Toyota makes it the quality would not be an issue. l liked the layout of the dash, & the sound system looks good & the interior lighting & panoramic sunroof r kewl. l am not sure how they rate for insurance, as in Canada there is a big difference between a 2dr & 4dr, (more for a 2dr) which does not make logical sense, but nothing l can do about. l do not know if that is an issue with you. Also l do not know what ur age or future plans/marriage family...and if u plan on getting married & having kids, than a 2 dr is a pain in elbow, when ur trying to put a car seat in. Other than that it looks like an awewome vehicle & l would consider purchasing it myself. l am 43 so my kids r grown up. Thanks if it was not for u l would not know anything about the Scion TC. Other cars u may be interested in r the Mazdaspeed 3, Hyundai Tiburon, VW Jetta which r all very well made. The Mazdaspeed 3 is turbocharged 4 cylinder, with 100 more horsepower than the Scion TC & very quick which interests me. You will be very surprised if u have not taken a Tiburon for a test drive... l was pleasantly surprised of the standard features, & warranty. They r at the point where the Japanese were when they were building a reputation & personally l prefer them over Toyota is . The VW Jetta is a good looking car from the exterior, but parts r expensive & so r options. Hope this helps & enjoy ur new ride.

God Bless You,

Daniel

l have an 06 TC Flint Mica & l love my car. l used to have a Honda H/B. l love to car because it goes fast & has so much leg room in the back. One thing bad about it is hard to get out when u r in the back seat. My kids love the car because in my area iam the only one that l have seen with black rims. Also my husband says it is a girls car because the peddles r small. It is a great car. My husband has had many races in it. So he loves it. All l can say is that it can keep up with an acura intergra gsr.
Also l love to way the car looks to. l have had some people mistake it for a lexus.

l bought an 07 tC in Aug & l love it.
im about 6'4'' & l am able to fit in it fairly well, something that l couldnt say about a civic. mine is a manuel & it can get up & move if u want it too.
i also liked that l was able to have the dealership customize it quite abit to fit what l wanted & its all under warrenty from Toyota.
i will admit that l wish that it got civic gas milage or even xB mileage but over its still better then some other cars in its class.
it has also handled very well in all the snow that we have had this winter in Iowa. ABS kicks in quite abit sometimes & makes me cringe everything l hear because l think something is breaking, but l have yet to have to feel like l have lost control of the car.
i have also hauled some of my friends around & several of them have been impressed with how much room they have in the back seat.

l would be totally embarrassed to drive around in that UGLY thing. Everyone would be pointing and laughing at me as l went by.

l own a '06 tC in Flint Mica, dark gray & l love it! l am constantly getting compliments from people old & young, but mostly glares from Honda owners, lol. It was the tC that switched me from American muscle to Asian import. Just check out all the special features & u will be amazed! It is like the Swiss Army knife of sporty compact cars, seriously!

It is a very reliable car. Most people do not break their cars in properly & they run into problems later on with gas mileage & reliability. l am at 23k miles & get great gas mileage, 30mpg on the highway & 25 city, & that is with a lead foot! l have had a few rattles, but only when on really bumpy surfaces, nothing to annoy me. Plus the music is constantly on & l would not be able to hear them anyways!

As for the looks, l think the car looks sporty with a touch of class. With all the aftermarket parts out there u can design ur car the way u want it to look. It is marketed as a ''blank canvas'' for customization. That is the main reason l bought the car, something different. There r too many uniform Hondas out there, plus they r not as roomy as this car.

Whatever ur decision, take ur time & test different ones. But l guarantee u will feel better just sitting in the tC. Plus it is got a Toyota engine & fully loaded will be 20k out the door!

Check out this website, that is where the majority of Scion owners hang out on the net. All sorts of tech questions, do it yourself help & great info on the evolution of our cars:
