Tell me what you like and what you dislike and if you would buy the car again.

l dont like where the gauges are located. l also do not like the construction of its interior. it feels cheap. if you want to buy a scion, l suggest you spend a little more money and get a Tc.
l do like the appearance of the xB because it is unique. IF l was going to get an xB, l would wait until the 2008 models are released and get the xD (better engine, more power, nicer styling).

Had a 2004, Loved it at first & very high build quality for the price. It is really roomy inside for passengers, but lacking in cargo space unless u fold the seats down, then it is fairly abundant for it is size. l loved the gage cluster though it does take some getting used to. Very comfortable to drive, awesome mileage, handles well, great visibility.

Reason l traded it in at 14k, peppy yet to slow for the highway (even with manual) very bumpy ride especially for rear passengers, ridiculous amount of wheel hop when trying to take off fast, feels like a toy instead of a car. Bottom line is the novelty of the car wears off fast.

l still would consider looking at the newly re-designed XB with the larger engine & hopefully resolved issues of any new model.

My dad has an xB and loves it. its the 2005 limited edition, bright yellow. he (and I) absolutely LOVE it. it has great room inside and is sold at such a low price. the only problem he has is that it does about 3500 rpm on the freeway and is ''killing'' his gas mileage, so he says. (a measly 35 mpg). im not a big fan of the redesigned one though, you could probly get some good deals on an 07 come august. but overall a great car and a great buy. highly recommend it.

l own a blue onyx pearl xB.

Main things that l like:

-Lots of legroom, especially for the backseat passengers.
-Lots of headroom.
-Easy to park - narrow so u fit into those mall parking lot spaces easily, & short front & rear end so u can park in more city street spots.
-Very reliable & low cost to own, according to various consumer reports.
-Stock stereo system has MP3 CD playback & also AUX input capability (plug in any mp3/cd/audio player). The stock stereo also sounds pretty good once u set the equalizer to ''feel'' mode & also hold down the SSP button & set it to ''xA'' mode.

Main things that l do not like:

-The ride is pretty bumpy. If u test drive it, try to drive it through various roads if possible. Back seats r very upright & also do not recline, so passengers back there have a pretty rough ride depending on the road & driver.
-The doors r pretty flimsy. When more than one of the five doors (hatch included) is opened & u close one, it sounds very loud & cheap. When only one of the doors was open & u close it, it does not sound as cheap because of the air pressure inside. When passengers close my doors they will sometimes ask me if they slammed it too hard because of the horrible sound. l have heard that people have had luck with getting the doors to slam like a more expensive car after adding sound deadening to the innards of the panels.
-The car is above-average in susceptibility to road debris due to the angle of the windshield & front of the car, especially with high speed driving (ie, freeway).
-The automatic transmission is a little too underpowered for more aggressive driving. I've had to floor it a few times on the highways to perform some passes. The car zips from city stoplight to stoplight just fine, but the acceleration in getting up to faster speeds (40+) is a little slow as well. Once again, try to get some higher speed driving in if u test drive.


Would l buy the car again?:

Probably not, especially since the 2008 xB will be out soon. It has a 2.4 liter Toyota Camry engine, the same as the current tC. You get much more power, along with extra safety in additional airbags. Those r the two biggest pluses for me with the new xB.

Luckily l am primarily a city driver. If it were otherwise, I'd probably end up buying a Corolla S or even tC instead.

Please note that factory production of the first generation xB has stopped since December last year ('06). If l were u l might just wait a few months for the new model to roll out. But then again it has a different look.it is all up to you! =)
