my boyfriend used to have the xa and it was terrible on gas and super tiny and it just was not accommodating at all so we sold it..plus the commercials are so...cartoony. l do not like the marketing or the cars...how do you feel about scion?

l think it is interesting; Scion is a line of Toyota is cars that r marketed at the ''hip, young'' generation & it seems to working quite well - although their commercials DO seem cartoony & childish, l am sure they appeal to a certain bracket.
Also, my boyfriend is mom bought an xa recently & she absolutely loves it.. we live in the city, so it is perfect - she does not need a lot of room (it is just her & her boyfriend) & the mileage works well for her because she does not drive it too often (and when she does, it usually is not very far).

Why on earth would anyone care about the commercials for a product? The commercials are done by some New York agency who would not know a transmission from a clothes line.

l care if the product is any good. That is decided by engineers in metro Detroit, L.A. and other places. They do not talk to the people in New York.

If the car was terrible on gas, was it maybe because your boyfriend had a heavy foot? He'd have that problem in any car.

There must be something wrong in the way you drive, my bro has the xa and he is getting 32 mpg in his car. l have the box and l get the same mileage. And yes l do like my car. And yes l like the cartoony commercials that are not so mainstream bland like all the other car commercials. l think Scion is a great car company and l think they will thrive as long as they keep the box car boxy. Bleah!

l own a 2007 Azure Pearl Scion tC (manual), & yes l love my car. There r some short-comings, & things about it that l would change, but it is a great value car. The commercials r directly aimed at the tuner market! If you're not a tuner, or interested in the 'culture', l can see how u might interpret them as cheesy or 'cartoony'. You may not like the marketing, but it has worked flawlessly for Scion, so no offense -- but l do not think ur single opinion means a hill of beans to the marketing executives when compared to the grand scheme. XA is on average get about 30 (or so) MPG, so l have no idea why ur boyfriend experienced poor gas mileage. Unless of course u guys were expecting Toyota Prius numbers. lol

l have a 2006 xb, l love it, l get about 30 miles to the gallon, very fun ride.
