is there a wieght compacity? l think l read somewhere like 700 max lbs, has anyone else heard this? another thing about the scion, some ppl would say it has very bad maunuverbility, like heavy winds on the freeway, they say it sways and cant keep its ground! well any advice would be greatly apprciated! thank you for you responses!

The old ones were ugly, small, got great mileage, and had a pretty good amount of room.

The new ones are uglier, bigger, do not get good mileage, and have more room.

l have an 06 xb. l love mine. more people have told me they thought it was a cool car than have told me it was ugly. usually people r very much one way or the other on the xb. l looked in my owner is book & it said the total weight capacity was 825 pounds. it is very roomy & the back seat is large, the seats lay down for lots of hauling room. l get between 30 & 34 mpg so l am pleased with the gas mileage. l had a jeep wrangler & in heavy winds l could feel the jeep blowing around but l have never felt the xb move in the wind. it maneuvers well & is easy to park. there r lots of extras u can add on & personalize the xb with. it has a great sound system, mine even has two built in DVD players. l would highly recommend the xb. if u think they look good do not worry about the people who think they r ugly. u can go on youtube & search scion xb & look how lots of people have fixed their scion to be different.

l drove one in Japan, it is cool. The first generation xB was as aerodynamic as a barn, but the second generation.. is lower, wider, and more powerful (same engine as the tC)

Go with the second generation.

l do not like the new Scion xB because of the boxy shape, the front & rear design, & the fact of the car having one reverse light. The new xB gets poor gas mileage due to its 2.4 liter 4 cylinder engine. l do not like that the xB has center guages, even though that the interior is pretty stylish, unlike the exterior. l would recommend the xD because it is not boxy, it does not have center guages, & that it gets very good gas mileage (26/32 automatic, 27/33 manual), due to its 1.8 liter engine, etc. l like the style of it inside & out. When comparing the xD, which replaces the xA for 2008, to the xB, l would definitely go with the xD.

THAT IS TOWING CAPACITY. THEY ARE BUILT ON ECHO FRAME AND HAVE SAME ENGINE. IT IS VERY SAFE AND RELIABLE. ALL SUV'S WILL MOVE IN WIND. GET A SPOILER AND THAT MIGHT HELP. FOR 16000 YOU CANNOT DO BETTER ON ANY CAR. NO PROFIT TO DEALER-YET.

l think its more then 700 lbs max. As for the bad maneuverability. where did that come from? People that drop the car and change it so much of course its not going to drive good it will just be for looks.

If it is the older model (the boxy one), it is not the best at speed and handling. It is not meant to be great for speed and handling since it is an ecconomy car. Overall it is a great car since it is basically a toyota..

xB is horrible and ugly. the tC is their best car. l am buying one in july 2008

Both things are essentially true. The xB (at least up to 2006) only has a 1.5 liter engine putting out 108 HP, so you can not carry too much and TOWING is forbidden by Toyota.

As for wind, yes, they do blow around because they are tall and light and ride on small, cheap tires.

But they are still very versatile and inexpensive as long as you use common sense driving them. They are not high-speed freeway cars, they are more like ''metro people movers''.

GO FOR IT! 2008 great buy! Good on gas & is roomy. If u dont buy it l will bite u & thats a fact. l think u already know that u want it. Who cares about the wieght. Its not like u will have that much in the Scion all the time. Yes alot of weight puts alot of stress on a motor that is only 4 cyl & 2.4 ltr. l drive my xb 100 miles per day, back and forth to work, and no major problems with wind.also l have taken mine up to 95mph several times with no problem.this car is very versatile and can be driven all over, except offroad.
