l would say it is a 6 out of 10. It had many reports that it was not very well made and it is a new company, and new companies dont always make the best cars. read up on it in various consumer reports before making a desicion.

no.price for performance, its beaten by the Civic Si, and soon the Civic Type R (250 hp) the Si is arount the same price and the R is $25,000.Plus Honda is a more reliable car in general

dont ever ever ever ever get a car made in asia piece of crap rice rockets.
get something nice like a jeep or a suburban. just get an american suv. expensive but what would you rather have a honda or toyota that in an accident is an asian death trap.

because what happens when those little things get hit or roll over or something that is right death

A) It is a great car with a reliable track record. Scion is Toyota is new namesake, & the tC has a Camry motor in it. A lot of people that buy these cars remove a lot of the interior to install stereos & alarms, & then do not always put the interior parts back on correctly. That is one of the reasons a lot of folks get some rattling. It also has a 5 star front crash rating.

B) It costs about 17 for a stick & 18 for an auto & that is pretty much loaded. Civic S l is run 22 before dealer markup. And the Civic Type R will not hit the US. If u wanted to make the tC as expensive as the Civic, u could add a turbo, & that combined with more torque available at an earlier rpm will roast the Civic. So, perfomance/price ratio is very high, in addition to the what-you-get/what-you-pay ratio..which is off the charts.

C) There is no such thing as an ''American'' car now. They r all made in Mexico now. In fact, the Mustang is only 60% American content, while a Camry is about 80% American & Toyota Sienna is 90% American.

well this is a great car but if you wanna have something with speed get a honda civic if you want economy its a great car. never get a jeep or suberban like the guy above the american cars not just drinks gas buy the barral but has a higher rollover rating then any japanese made car. and also when have to seel the car it has a better resell value then any american car that is out now

yes, great cars. l went fron San Francisco to newport oregon and back (a 12 hour drive each way) for $150 dollars in gas, over 1400 miles. $3.00 a gallon. but if you get a scion get the best options, when l bought my xb in mid 2003 they did not offer any big options, supercharger, sunroof or the billit grill, infact l bought my xb before they even offered the lava limited edition scion xb, l should of waited and got the best, good luck

l think so. l will be buying one this month (Automatic in Flint Mica).

l looked at the following too:

Toyota -
Camry
Corolla
Solara
Rav 4
Yaris
Matrix
Prius

Honda-
Civic EX
Civic Si

Dodge-
Caliber

Saturn-
Ion Red Line

For the money, features, upgrades & gas mileage l can not go worng with Scion. l like the dependability & HP too. Hope it works out well for you. l can not wait to get mine!

It is a nicely equipped sporty car. But if you're looking for some performance & comparable price, u should consider the Civic Si. The downside with the Civic is that there is a waiting list & since it is new & in-demand, negotiating a price will be hard.

You should also consider the WRX TR - it is the WRX without the bells & whistles. Performance to die for..

Also consider the Mazda 3S. It is a great car, Edmund is editor is choice. It is nice looking & is very reasonably priced.

Scion is a division of Toyota. (it goes scion, Toyota, Lexus) so you know that the car is reliable. The Scion tC is fun to drive and has nimble handling. With it is sporty exterior and stylish interior it makes it perfect for teenagers who just want to get out on the road.

The only bad thing about Scions is that you can not negotiate the price. You have to pay sticker/invoice price.
