l discovered a crack about a foot long in my windshield on Saturday morning, no apparent signs of damage to the windhield (rock chips,etc).

Upon speaking with a repair shop. l was told there was an almost invisible chip on the black barrier around the windshield, which caused this crack and that it was a problem with the design of the vehicle (windshield is almost verticle )

l am wondering if any other scion XB owners have had this problem? At an average of $500 per winhield, it a pretty big design flaw that Scion shoudl be paying for, not the owners.

Is anyone aware of a class action lawsuit against Scion for this problem? l know the Honda element is a similar design and there was a class action lawsuit against them for the same problem.

OMG l have a crack on my xb too! its been there for a while now and l plan on getting it repaired soon but l had no idea about the invisible chip on the black barrier. l agree if its a flaw scion should pay for it..

Ok, lets get something clear. It is NOT scions fault.

Here is what your mechanic meant, because the windshield is nearly vertical (design) it is prone to stone chips. The chip started the crack.

What do you want them to do, install a specially angled windshield just for you.

If it cracked for absolutly no reason, then it is a manufacturing fault. Because you chose to buy a car with the aerodynamics of a house brick is not there fault.
